The Junior League of Tallahassee’s Little Black Dress Initiative

The Junior League of Tallahassee (JLT) is launching it’s second annual Little Black Dress Initiative (LBDI)! Between November 27 and December 1, 2017, JLT members and LBDI advocates will wear the same black dress or outfit for five consecutive days to illustrate the effects poverty can have on access to resources, confidence, and professional opportunities. The dress will represent the lack of choices those living in poverty have. By wearing a button that reads “Ask me About my Dress,” advocates invite dialogue among colleagues, friends, and strangers to raise awareness about poverty and how it affects our community.
