The Junior League of Tallahassee will host its annual Whale of a Sale community yard sale April 13-14 at the North Florida Fairgrounds.
All proceeds from the Whale of a Sale go back into the community through the JLT’s strategic projects that benefit children and families in Tallahassee and the surrounding areas. This year marks the final Whale of a Sale.
Whale of a Sale Co-Chair Candace Munz said, “The longevity of this event is a testament to the impact it has made in our community. For 44 years, the Whale of a Sale has provided funding for the Junior League of Tallahassee’s projects, and in turn benefited countless children and families in Tallahassee. It’s certainly a bittersweet moment, but we are excited to see what the future holds.”
Since 1974, the Whale of a Sale has grown to be Tallahassee’s largest yard sale and features affordable prices on new and gently-used furniture, clothes, housewares, toys, sporting goods, appliances, books, music and more. The Junior League of Tallahassee would like to thank our Florida Lottery sponsor for helping to make our last Whale of a Sale possible.
The Whale of a Sale will be open for shopping Saturday, April 14, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. Admission to the event is $2.
Along with the main event, community members are encouraged to join the JLT for the Whale of a Sale Preview Party on Friday, April 13, at 6 p.m., for early shopping and live entertainment. With the purchase of a $100 ticket, attendees will receive dinner and drinks for two, along with the chance to win more than $7,000 in prizes.
