WHAT: Kids' Boutique, Junior League of Tallahassee's (JLT) signature project, is an event that assists economically challenged children in Leon County whose family cannot afford new school clothes. This annual program provides approximately 150 children with a variety of essentials needed to start their school year off right. Participants will receive new clothes, shoes, underwear, socks and a backpack full of school supplies.
WHEN: Sunday, August 6, 2006, 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
WHERE: Old Navy and Shoe Carnival - Tallahassee Mall locations
PHOTO OP: Children shopping for back to school clothes and school supplies with local community leaders and JLT members.
Note: We will have media release forms signed by the children's guardians. Children and families available to the media will be identified with a green dot on their name tags.

Largest Grant Received in History
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (July 6, 2006) - The state Department of Health's Division of Obesity Prevention just awarded the Junior League of Tallahassee, Inc. a $14,999 grant, the single largest financial contribution in the Junior League's nearly 50-year history.

New Board of Directors and Committee Chairs
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (June 29, 2006) - The Junior League of Tallahassee announced today the appointment of its new Board of Directors and committee chairpersons for the 2006-2006 fiscal year. Overseeing the board of directors and the organization as president is Nicole Hobbs and as president-elect is Tammy Brockmeier (also tasked with the role of overseeing the Junior League's strategic plan).
