comcast cares_photo copyThank you for your interest in joining The Junior League of Tallahassee! Each year, the Junior League of Tallahassee trains new members to be effective volunteers and leaders in our community.

In order to join The Junior League of Tallahassee, prospective members must be proposed for membership by a current Leaguers. If you don’t already know someone in the League, make sure to come by one of the New Member Interest meetings, get to know us, and let us get to know you!

The prospective members must meet the League’s objective criteria to be considered for membership:

  • Must be between the age of 23 and 45 prior to June 1, 2016
  • Must reside in Leon County or within a 40 mile radius
  • Must possess an interest in volunteerism and a commitment to community service
  • Must possess an interest in developing her potential for voluntary community participation

New members will complete a comprehensive training program that allows them to learn about our League structure and programs, as well as participate in our community projects.

Applications for the 2017-2018 New Member Class are due on June 1, 2017 and can be submitted via this link, email to [email protected], or at an interest meeting.  Completed applications must include: a letter of recommendation (does not need to be from a League member), and a $100.00 application fee.

Transferring into the JLT

The first step in transferring is to contact your “home” League and request a transfer to the Junior League of Tallahassee. We are unable to begin your transfer without authorization from your original Junior League. You must have your Tallahassee address in order to begin the membership transfer process.

Once your transfer is initiated with AJLI by your home League, you will be contacted by the Vice President of Membership. You will then be asked to forward payment to include a $25 transfer fee and pro-rated dues.

Once payment is received, the Chair of the Transfer Committee will be given your information and will contact you. You will also receive your placement assignment for the remainder of the League year. Several social events are planned throughout the year for our Transfers.
