The Whale of a Sale, JLT’s largest fundraiser since 1974, features gently used merchandise at low prices. All proceeds from the Whale of a Sale flow back into the community through our projects that benefit children and families – Operation Prom Dress, Fostering Hope, Kids Boutique and Kids in the Kitchen.

In 2011, we are excited that the Whale of a Sale will take place on Friday, February 25th and Saturday, 26th at the former Goody’s location in the Tallahassee Mall.

The Preview Party and Silent Auction event will kick off on Friday from 6-10 pm. The Preview Party is a great opportunity for attendees to enjoy wonderful food, drinks and activities during the “Havana Nights” themed event.  Attending the Preview Party allows you to check out all the items before the crowds of visitors and bid on amazing items of all prices during the Silent Auction.

In 2010, the silent auction featured more than 100 items from a year’s supply of organic milk from Organic Valley to wonderful prints by Pattie Maney, from photography packages from Woodland Fields Photography to a date night out from Seminole Sitters and Angelo & Son's Seafood Restaurant. Saturday is a great time to go shopping! For just $1 shoppers, from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, get great merchandise at low prices. The 2011 sale will feature a new section – “Rodeo Re-Drive” where all items are brand new! From decorating a college dorm room to looking for baby strollers or clothes, from grabbing some bestselling books to finding great kitchen items – the 2011 Whale of a Sale promises to have it all.
