The Little Black Dress Initiative (LBDI) is a fundraising program during which Junior League of Tallahassee (JLT) members and LBDI advocates wear the same black dress or outfit for five consecutive days to illustrate the effects poverty can have on access to resources, confidence, and professional opportunities. The dress represents the lack of choices those living in poverty have. By wearing a button that reads “Ask me About my Dress,” advocates invite dialogue among colleagues, friends, and strangers to raise awareness about poverty and how it affects our community.

100% of the funds collected fuel the JLT’s outreach programs in the Tallahassee community.
