About JLT

The Junior League of Tallahassee is a nonprofit organization of women committed to improving the lives of children through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. JLT commits more than 5,000 volunteer hours and contributes more than $80,000 annually to our community. The proceeds acquired through our fundraisers benefit local area children and their families by targeting their specific needs.

The JLT is a group of more than 600 women committed to building a better community. JLT is committed to diversifying its membership by reaching out to include women regardless of race, creed, religion or national origin who demonstrate an interest and a commitment to volunteerism.

Established in 1960, the Junior League of Tallahassee, Inc. has served North Florida in numerous ways. With a diverse membership, JLT has created new and innovative approaches to offering individual talents and valuable time toward improving the lives of children in our community. Look around our community and you will see evidence of our many projects throughout the years. Some of our projects and sponsorships have included: Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, Tallahassee Museum of Arts & Science, Refuge House, Leroy Collins Leon County Public Library, Junior League Scholarships, Bookmobile, Hospice, Reading room projects, Science in Motion, Kids' Cafe, historic preservation projects, MOA, and theater for kids, just to name a few.
